how to make real american coffee? 10point the beast?
Hi, I`m Italian. I Have a question.
I have this coffee maker:

Now.
1 - What kind of coffee do you use for make coffee? arabica?robusta?
2 - You put sugar in coffee? In every movie I never see anyone put coffee in the coffee. (american film or sit com, example, according to jim, etc..)

Sorry for the questions, but I love american coffee, and I want make it here, in Italy, in my home.

i love coffee but not one for the name brands like starbucks and the sort.
i was also having trouble making it at home and realized i enjoyed gas station coffee the best.
so i switched from mr. coffee pot to an old time electric coffee percolator. so much better. i also buy the brand my grocery has as their own . it is cheaper than name brands. the trick is one teaspoon for every cup of water.
the coffee at dunkin donuts is really good and can be purchased to make at home but i am too cheap to pay the price. it isn't necessary to buy expensive coffee. keeping the pot clean by running white vinegar through once a week makes a great difference no matter what kind of pot. be sure to run clear water through several times before making next pot.
